Multi-site reporting

Multi-site franchise reporting: every location, one clear view.

Store-by-store profit and loss, consolidated group results and a monthly picture of margins, labour and cash across every location you run.

Quick answer

What is multi-site reporting?

Multi-site reporting means producing financial results for each location separately — sales, gross margin, labour, occupancy, royalties and site profit — and then combining them into consolidated results for the whole group, on a consistent basis every month. It lets an operator see which sites are carrying the business, which are dragging it down and why.

Why group totals aren’t enough

A group profit and loss statement tells you how the portfolio performed. It doesn’t tell you that one site’s labour cost has drifted four points above the others, that a shopping-centre site’s rent is eating its margin, or that the newest store is still burning cash. Those insights only appear when each location is measured on its own, the same way, every month.

What we set up

  • Location tracking in your accounting file (tracking categories, classes or separate entities) so every transaction belongs to a site.
  • A consistent chart of accounts across sites and entities, aligned with your franchisor’s reporting where possible.
  • Shared-cost allocation rules for area managers, head office, vehicles and software, kept separate from site contribution.
  • Consolidation across entities, with intercompany loans and charges eliminated.
  • A monthly pack with site P&Ls, a comparison table, key ratios and a short commentary.

The measures that matter

Measure What it tells you
Sales ex GST, and vs budget and last year Whether growth is real and where it’s coming from
Gross margin % Purchasing, wastage and pricing discipline
Labour % of sales Rostering efficiency — usually the biggest controllable cost
Occupancy % of sales Whether the lease still works at current sales
Royalties and levies Fees reconciled to sales for each site
Site contribution (before shared costs) What each location actually earns for the group

We tailor the measures to your sector — food cost in hospitality, membership numbers and churn in fitness, parts margin in automotive.

Multi-site FAQs

Multi-site reporting questions

How do you compare profitability between franchise locations?

On the same basis for every site: sales ex GST, gross margin, labour as a percentage of sales, occupancy, royalties and levies and site contribution before shared costs. Shared costs are allocated separately so they don’t distort the comparison. Our method in detail.

Do I need a separate company for each site?

Not necessarily. Reporting by site works with tracking categories in one entity. Whether separate entities make sense depends on risk, finance, tax and exit plans.

How quickly after month end will I get reports?

That depends on how quickly your data is available and the scope we agree. We set a reporting timetable as part of the engagement so you know when to expect your pack.

Can you report in my franchisor’s format?

Yes. Where your franchisor requires a specific monthly report or benchmarking submission, we can map your accounts to it.
